Fiber Optic Transillumination
Fiber Optic Transillumination is a diagnostic tool that emits a concentrated beam of bright light. The intense light can reveal cavities located between teeth or under restorations. It is also able to detect cracks in your teeth that are not visible to the naked eye.
In the illustration above, you can see the color difference running across the tooth that indicates a crack in the tooth. We have marked it in the third picture for you to see more easily.
The fiber optic transillumination device allows us to diagnose and treat issues when they are small, before they begin to cause pain or significant tooth structure damage.
